Canterbury's Leading Independent Opticians

Migraine Awareness Week (4th – 10th September 2016)

Do you suffer from any of the following symptoms when reading?

  • Movement of printed text
  • Blurring of print
  • Letters changing shape or size
  • Patterns in print
  • Halos of colouring surrounding letters or words
  • Tiring easily when reading
  • Headaches or visual discomfort
  • Red, sore, watery eyes

Then you could be suffering from something called Visual Stress.

Visual Stress is a term used to describe visual discomforts and perceptual distortions in printed text. It affects about 20% of the population, but is more prominent in those suffering from dyslexia or migraines.

Visual Stress can be reduced by the use of coloured filters (either through the use of coloured overlays placed over text or coloured lenses worn in glasses).

Here at Pybus Opticians, we have the specialist Colorimetry equipment and expertise to complete a full Colorimetry assessment to discover whether the use of coloured lenses would be beneficial – and what better time to shout about it than during Migraine Awareness Week (4th – 10th September).

So if you or your child suffers from visual discomfort or distortions when reading, give us a call on 01227 760501 and we will advise you on the best course of action.
